MESSAGE TO GUESTS

Pre/Post Waxing & Sugaring Info

PRIOR TO APPOINTMENT:

  • Hair Length:  Hair only needs to be 1/4" long for waxing & sugaring (about the length of a grain of rice.)  Approx 10-14 days of growth after shaving.

  • Moisturizing:  Daily moisturizing keeps the skin healthy and greatly helps to have a better waxing experience.

  • Exfoliation:  Exfoliating 2-3 times a week before your appointment will help remove the dead skin and decrease the pain associated with waxing. Just avoid over exfoliating especially 24 hours prior to and after your appointment.

  • Water Intake:  Drinking extra water before your appointment can help your waxing to be less painful and more effective.  Drinking coffee or alcohol before your appointment is not recommend and can increase the pain during hair removal!!!

  • Pain Reliever:  Taking a pain reliever/ibuprofen 30 minutes before your appointment may help decrease the pain associated with hair removal.

AFTER CARE:

  • Exfoliating:  Please wait 3 days after hair removal before exfoliating and then continue exfoliating 2-3 times a week.

  • Finipil:  Apply Finipil daily to keep skin hydrated and to prevent ingrown hairs.  This can be used immediately after treatment.

  • AHA/BHA Toner Pads:  AHA/BHA exfoliating toner pads.  Perfect for those prone to ingrown hairs.  Great for active skin too.  Can be used on the face and body.  Can be used 1-2 days after treatment or once any irritation subsides.  Use 2-3 times a week.

  • AVOID:  Avoid Hot Tubs and swimming pools for 2-3 days following Treatment.  The pores of the skin are more open for 24 hours after Hair Removal so there is a greater chance of infection.  Showering is okay.

  • Skin Spotting:  Tiny red spots may appear on the skin for a few hours or even a day or so in some cases.  If this should happen do not be alarmed. This is just an indication that the hairs have been removed from the follicle and it's quite normal after a treatment.  They will disappear.  If they turn into white pimple like bumps use Hydrocortisone cream if you don't have an allergy to hydrocortisone.

  • Exercising:  It is best not to exercise the day hair removal.  Exercise increases sweating and therefore the chance of break outs.

  • What to wear:  It is best to wear loose cotton clothing after receiving hair removal.

  • Sensitive Skin:  Do not use highly fragranced body products on the areas treated for 1-2 days after treatment.

  • Beware of Sun Exposure:  After your treatment, your skin may sunburn more easily.  Avoid exposing your skin to the sun and do not use a tanning bed for at least 3 days before or after hair removal.  We can not perform hair removal on skin that is sunburned.

  • Your Next Appointment:  The best results occur when you establish a routine suitable to your hair growth.  Since diminishment of hair growth is a gradual process and is achieved by regular treatments over a period of time, the usual time span between appointments is 3-5 weeks.  It is important to note that due to the changes that may occur in your hormonal balance from time to time, you may have unusually heavy growth perhaps 1 or 2 times a year.  This is quite normal.  Keep in mind that the diminishment of hair growth will occur gradually, despite the occasional heavy growth and this doesn't mean that the treatment isn't working or that your hair growth is being stimulated.  Usually hair diminishes the most within 18-24 months.

  • Please do not use a razor or depilatory creams between appointments.
